Who We Are

Renew Church was born out of prayer and a deep desier for authentic worship and community. We longed for a place of welcome—a place to come as you are, whether in brokenness, in grief or in joy—and experience the Presence of the Lord. When we came together to form this church, there was the shared sense that God was calling us to something new. None of us had envisioned this step, yet from the beginning, each person could see how He had planned and provided for this church with His divine grace.
In February 2019, our leadership team spent time in Franklin, Tennessee, visiting with the Rolling Hills Community Church team. There, we were mentored, encouraged and challenged. We caught an even greater vision for what Renew could be. When we returned to Waco, we were strengthened by that relationship—a congregation willing to walk beside us and support us in this new venture.
At the time, we didn't know where we would worship, but God had already prepared the way. The faithful people of Lakewood Christian Church sought us out before we even knew them, and our first gathering as a church took place on February 17, 2019, in Lakewood's facilities. Since that night, God has faithfully brought people who long for more of His Presence and who are willing serve together with us. These people have become partners with Renew, and together we are engaging in the kind of Spirit-filled worship and service that transforms lives.
